Enabling Digital Twins
Speaking at IRPC Americas 2022 on September 26-27th, Houston, Westin Galleria
Refiners and petrochemical companies actively deploy digital twins primarily at the equipment level to support asset performance monitoring, ESG regulatory compliance, and predictive maintenance applications. However, there are unique challenges to implementing digital twins for complex unit operations, which is desirable for process unit and plant-wide optimization. These challenges include conditioning inputs to the digital twin models, using real-time and laboratory information, and integration with leading steady-state process simulation technologies. This presentation explains ways and means to improve digital twin model input data quality and the benefits.
